FastStep shines at U14/U16 Rising Stars
Well done to the FastStep Badminton Academy players who picked up medals at last weekend’s Sussex U14/U16 Rising Stars tournament.
Amy Radford won the U16 girls’ singles, then won the girls doubles with fellow FastStep player Casey Coats, beating another FastStep player, Amy Fines and partner in the final! Great work girls!
In the boys event, there was gold for FastStep’s Harry Tree in the U14 doubles, alongside partner Luke Davies [who has now joined FastStep too – Ed]. Well done boys!
Good luck to players at the U10/U12 Rising Stars this weekend.
Gold for Amy and Laura
Well done to Amy Radford and Laura Hemsley who won gold in the U16 girls doubles at the Tunbridge Wells League Junior tournament.
Also well done to Amy for reaching the final of the U16 singles and claiming the silver medal.
Jack and Will take silver in Eastbourne
Well done to FastStep first-time pairing of Jack Thomson and Will Savage, who picked up silver at the weekend in the Eastbourne senior tournament men’s doubles event.

FastStep success at TWBL Spring tournament
There was success for FastStep players today at the Tunbridge Wells Badminton League Junior tournament.
David Jolliffe and Elliott Lucas won the boys U14 doubles, while David came runner up in the U14 singles. Well done boys.
Also a huge well done to FastStep’s Thomas Klyne who won the U12 doubles event with partner Will Brownless.
Ellis gets his Level 1 coaching award
Well done FastStep player Ellis Wilson who has successfully attained his UKCC Level 1 Badminton Coaching qualification.
FastStep out in force at East London U15
FastStep girls were out in force at the East London U15 Bronze on Saturday, with Amy Radford, Casey Coats, Eva Craig and Monica Carr-Pacquay all making the trip.
There were wins for all the girls during the day, with Eva reaching the final of the girls doubles with partner Chanumi Gamage and taking home a silver medal. Great experience was gained by all the girls, well done.
On Sunday, the other side of the Thames, our U13 county players were tackling Kent in a tough encounter where 10 of the 20 matches went to 3! Sussex lost 16-4, but Ben Smith and Dhanush Thiagaraj managed a win in the boys doubles and Isabelle Craig won her singles and one of her doubles.
Meanwhile back north of the river, Daniel Hatton helped Sussex U17s to a 17-3 victory over Essex with a win in his singles and mixed.
FastStep Y9s beat Burgess Hill
Well done to our year 9 team who beat Burgess Hill Juniors 6-0 in the Mid Sussex Junior League this week. Well played Dhanush, David, Harry and Thomas.
