FastStep junior badminton club night launches

We’re excited to announce that we’re launching a new junior badminton club night in Haywards Heath this spring.

FastStep junior badminton club night is for players aged 12-18 who want to play games in a fun, relaxed environment.

Club night isn’t for total beginners (see our Smashers group for this level), but as long as you can play a decent rally of shots, you’re welcome!

Club nights are on Fridays 7-8pm at Central Sussex College, Harlands Rd, Haywards Heath and the cost is just £30 for the rest of the school year.

Come and try out our new junior badminton club night – let us know you’re coming and  your first session will be free!

FastStep will continue to offer coaching groups throughout the week (FastStep Badminton Academy) and players from the Academy will be encouraged to attend club night.

Monica scores Silver at Hampshire U17

Huge congratulations to Monica Carr-Pacquay for winning a Silver medal at the Hampshire U17 Bronze last week.

Monica and partner Rosheen Postlewhite came through two nail-biting sudden death matches in their box to reach the final.

Well done Monica – first of many BE medals we hope!

Gold for Eva and Chanumi

eva_chanumi_berksu15sFastStep player Eva Craig and partner Chanumi Gamage picked up the gold medal at the Berkshire U15 Silver tournament in Bracknell. They battled through some close games to end the day undefeated and claim top prize.

Eva also reached the semi-finals of the girls’ singles and claimed a bronze medal.

Also, rather belatedly, there were plenty of medals for FastStep players at the Sussex U17 Bronze last weekend with Eva winning Silver in doubles and bronze in singles and mixed, and Amy Radford and Casey Coats claiming bronze in the girls’ doubles.

Silver success at Luton for Eva and Chanumi

eva_chanumi_lutonu17b_2015Well done to FastStep’s Eva Craig and partner Chanumi Gamage (Cambridgeshire) who picked up the Silver medal at the Luton U17 Bronze tournament.

Both girls attended the FastStep Summer Camp last week and their hard work paid off with a string of strong performances, just missing out on gold by a single point.
