Sussex Rising Stars 2014 details announced
Entry has opened for the Sussex County Junior Badminton’s annual Rising Stars event, which is open to anyone who lives or goes to school in Sussex.
There are U10, U12, U14 and U16 events, with some restrictions – please check the restrictions carefully on the entry form to make sure you’re eligible and ask the tournament organisers if you have any questions.

With just under 3 weeks to go until the launch of FastStep Badminton Academy’s new Elite training group, here’s an exclusive sneak peek inside the fantastic hall we’ll be using.
Final preparations are being made for this exciting new addition to the Sussex badminton scene.

FastStep Badminton Academy Elite launches in Haywards Heath
We’re excited to tell you about the launch of FastStep Badminton Academy Elite in Haywards Heath this month.
Kicking off on Thursday 27th February, FastStep will offer a high performance badminton training programme for Elite players in the Sussex, Kent and Surrey area.
FastStep Elite sessions will be lead by FastStep head coach Zeyar Win (pictured), a highly experienced Level 3 Badminton England coach.

U11 national circuit success for FastStep
Congratulations to U10 FastStep player Izzy Craig for claiming the bronze medal in the girls’ doubles at today’s Surrey U11 Badminton England tournament.
It was her first BE medal at only her second BE tournament. Well done!
Junior badminton tournaments to enter in Spring 2014
There are several tournaments coming up and I would like all the FastStep Badminton Academy players to enter them.
Please read through the requirements to ensure you are eligible and entering at the correct level. There is nothing like entering these tournaments and gaining that experience. It will make you a better player as you enter more.

WELL DONE to all our FASTSTEP players who are doing well at University
You may all like to know that a lot of the FASTSTEP players who has gone to UNIVERSITY are doing well. They have all made it into their own University teams and representing at matches.
Some are also even representing the county that they are studying in. Like, Adele who is representing Cambridgeshire First Team and also her university. And, guess what, she is doing REALLY well in singles too. For those of us who knows Adele, she deserves it! Well done you!

No more FastStep badminton at K2 on Thursdays
Please note that FastStep Club is no longer running at K2 Leisure Centre. However, good news is that Zeyar has managed to persuade K2 to take it on and run a junior session on the same day and time as normal (Thursdays 5-6pm). For more information please contact K2 reception team. If they are not aware, please do contact Zeyar on zeyar@faststepbadminton.co.uk
FZ Forza kit order for FastStep soon
As part of the FZ Forza sponsorship of FastStep Badmiton Academy, I will be making another order for this 2013/14 season for the academy in next two weeks. Please give all your orders to Zeyar as soon as possible. TOPS AND RACKETS only please. For tops please ensure that you order the correct sizes. I will confirm the price of the POLO soon but it will be a lot less than the RRP. Please check the Forza size chart. For the GERRY/GITTA Black Unisex Polo, please order a size bigger as the neck is very tight from experience. I will require full payment in advance and will not be refunding on tops once they are printed.
