Only Two More Spaces Left (Posted 02/03/10)

The Monday Evening Adult and 16 + Coached Sessions have been very popular this season. Great atmosphere with varying abilities. For this term, the maximum I am taking is 16 to ensure continuous play for everyone. There are now only two more spaces left.

The course has already started but as it is ran as informal course, you can join now.

Match dates (Posted 02/03/10)

The postponed AWAY match against Forest is now on 21st March 2010.  Starts 5.15pm at Tandridge House School, Horsham.

Match on Sunday 7th March 2010 may need to be postponed. Contact Zeyar for more.

Junior Match News (Posted 19/01/10)

The winning streak came to an end after what can be desrcibed as a loss due to poor concentration by a number of players in the team against Limpsfield who we beat very convincingly at home. There were a few changes in the opposition line ups. The scores were very close with a few come backs. We need to do better in the concentration department to start winning again.

Following is the league standings as on 1st of Jan 2010.

A few matches has been rearranged due to weather and other reasons. Albury home match is to be confirmed after snow. Forest away match is likely to be on Sunday 14th Feb or 21st March. This will be confirmed shortly.

Back to normal (Posted 19/01/10) 

After the disruptions due to weather, we are now back to normal with all the junior sessions.

The adult sessions are to resume on Mondays from February. These will be as a normal club with coaching and training inputs during the games as well as practice routines in order to ensure that technical and tactical elements are progressed. There will no longer be Wednesday sessions.

Due to heavy snow downfalls across the county, it has been decided to cancel the following training sessions. Keep your eyes on this website for any future cancellations and info.

Cancellations:

- Thursday Club at St Wilfrids & K2
- Sunday Club at Holy Trinity

The match on Sunday is also most likely to be cancelled if this weather holds. This will be confirmed for definite by Saturday.

Please pass on this information to your club mates if you do get in touch with them.

Unbeaten and Well Done to the FastStep Team (Posted 09/12/09)

From the beginning of October, the team consisting of Riddima Dharap, Gemma Sharp, Alec Fuggle, Jack Prince, Ross Dalton and Viraj Patel have been playing in the Crawley and District League. The format of the match this year includes Singles for both boys and girls, Level Doubles and Mixed Doubles. It means that all the players need to be both fit and tactically skillful, providing a far better challenge than last year's format for all the players.

After a couple fo years of development, the team is now doing very well this season with an unbeaten record. Please join in and say well done to our team and wish them luck in their future matches. Matches ahead are expected to be tougher as we will be seen as one of the teams to beat.

Mid Sussex Juniors Tournament for NON-COUNTY players (Posted 9/12/09)

There is an annual Mid Sussex Junior Tournament for NON-COUNTY players in January. It is a very good tournament that has always ben ran well. It is highly recommended for ALL the faststep academy players to enter to gain experience and also to see how well you can do under a tournament environment. The entry forms are to be sent according to the details on the form and not to FastStep.

The match dates for 2009/10 season (Posted 04/09/09)

The fixture dates for the FastStep Juniors within Crawley and District Junior League is now available. There is a change in format as follow.

There will be 2 x Mixed Doubles, 2 x Level Doubles (one boys doubles & one girls doubles), 1 x Boys Singles, 1 x Girls Singles

The games will be played to 21 points with setting but only playing 2 rubbers against each opponent. All the game scores will be counted towards the final match results. i.e. if you win a game/rubber, the team will get one point.

Adult Badminton Classes and Pay & Play Clubs (Posted 4/09/09)

There will be information regarding new classes for adults posted on this site soon with details of dates and venues. If you are interested, please try to keep the Monday evenings between 7:30pm till 9:30pm free for Intermediate/Advance players and Wednesday 8pm till 9:30pm for beginners.

Adult Pay and Play Clubs will also be available during the same period.  All players 16 and above can attend and some upon invitation with their parents if the standard is appropriate.

New Forza Team Tops look fantistic on our players (Posted 04/02/09)

New team clothing were given to our players at the beginning of January and it has been a hit with all the players with many more wanting the tops.  The quality of the tops are great and it looks great on all our players. Fabulous!

Congratulations to Ben for becoming a fully qualified Level 2 Coach

Well done Ben for passing the Level 2 earlier this year! Fantastic achievement. 

The club needs more Level 1 and 2 coaches to strengthen our club and regional badminton involvement.  The club is applying for the Premier Club status and it would be great if we have even more coaches and more activities happening within the club.  If you are interested, whether you are a parent or a player, please speak with Zeyar.  Level 1 is from the age of 16 and Level 2 from 18+.
